Family & Public Service
Rodney lives in Phoenix with his wife, Sasha, and their two daughters. Rodney and Sasha met when they were both attending the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 2007. He originally moved to Tucson to run a family business. Before earning his JD at the U of A, Rodney earned a PhD in Arid Land Resource Sciences and his bachelor’s in agricultural economics.
At age 29, while in law school, Rodney began his life in public service when he was elected to the Tucson City Council. Later, after moving to Phoenix, Rodney served as Acting Town Manager of Cave Creek, where he led a management and operational transformation which resulted in less government, less bureaucracy, and positioned the town as a more business-friendly community.
He also oversaw the merger of municipal courts with the Town of Carefree to create a regional municipal court system, saving taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.

Prosecutor, Private Sector Attorney, Businessman
Rodney serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force JAG Corps Reserve. He is currently assigned to the 56th Fighter Wing Legal Office at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, where he often serves as Acting Staff Judge Advocate, leading the Active Duty legal office.
The 56th FW is the largest fighter wing in the U.S. Air Force, and its mission is to train the world’s greatest fighter pilots and combat-ready airmen. The Wing oversees the Gila Bend Air Force Auxiliary Field and is the steward of the 1.7-million-acre Barry M. Goldwater Military Training Range. Rodney supports the legal office in providing legal advice and services to a base population of 5,600 active duty and civilian personnel.
In the private sector, Rodney is Of Counsel at Slavicek Law Firm in Phoenix. His practice areas include high-stakes commercial litigation, contract fraud, business torts, and catastrophic personal injury.
Rodney developed his business law practice at Ryley, Carlock, & Applewhite PLLC, conducting transactional due diligence, advising on legislative strategy, preparing analysis, and serving as a legal advisor for privately held businesses, philanthropists, and publicly held corporations. Before joining Slavicek Law Firm, Rodney served as Of Counsel at Beus Gilbert McGroder PLLC.

Military Service to Our Nation
In 2009, Rodney applied to the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps Reserve. He obtained his commission in March of 2009, and after completing Air Force officer and JAG training at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, was assigned to the office of the 355th Fighter Wing, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. At Davis-Monthan, Rodney prosecuted sexual assault, financial crimes, drugs, and DUIs, while providing legal assistance to service members and their families.
In 2014, Rodney was reassigned to the 56th Fighter Wing, Luke Air Force Base, as well as providing operational law support for the 612th Air Operations Center and 12th Numbered Air Force in Tucson. Rodney also served in several quasi-judicial roles: as a legal advisor for discharge boards ruling on the admissibility of evidence, and as a preliminary hearing officer.
In 2018, Rodney was reassigned to the 354th Fighter Wing, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, where he served as the Acting Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, providing comprehensive legal support to commanders, first sergeants, and organizational leaders responsible for 4,000 personnel.
In 2021, Rodney was reassigned as the Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) to the Staff Judge Advocate for the 17th Training Wing, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas where he served as Acting Staff Judge Advocate for the active-duty legal office during manning shortages.
In 2023, Rodney was selected to serve on active duty for six-months, performing a Military Personnel Appropriation tour with the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, Space Training and Readiness Command, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. During this period, Rodney analyzed and reviewed multiple command projects, including ethics reviews for the Major General and Field Command leadership, and worked with higher education institutions to provide research for Headquarters.
Among his decorations, Rodney was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Air Force Outstanding Achievement with one oak leaf cluster, and was recognized as JAG Reservist of the Year for the Pacific Air Forces in 2020 and 2019, and JAG Reservist of the Year for the 19th Air Force in 2023.

Community Leadership
Rodney serves on the board of directors for the Honor Health Foundation, the Arizona 100 Club, and the Grand Canyon Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
He formerly served on the boards for the Arizona Chapter of the Jewish National Fund and the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education. Rodney is the former Chair of the Dean’s Circle for the Arizona State University College of Health Solutions, and he previously served as an appointed member of the State of Arizona’s Military Affairs Commission.
Rodney and Sasha have co-authored the Jeremy Jackrabbit children’s book series and have distributed over 300,000 free children’s books to kindergartners across Arizona.
While a student at UA, Rodney created the Glassman Foundation, a non-profit organization that raised and distributed over $250,000 annually to dozens of children’s non-profits, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Arizona, Tu Nidito, the Catalina Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus.
